M. J. College of Commerce was established in the year 1949 in Bhavnagar district, Gujarat, India. It was founded by Sheth Shri Mangaldas Jesingbhai, with the aim of promoting commerce education in the region.
This makes it one of the older commerce colleges in the Saurashtra region, starting its journey soon after India’s independence when formal higher education in business and commerce was expanding across the country.
The college is a constituent/affiliated college of Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India.
It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Commerce, Management and Computer Sciecne related streams such as B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce) with specializations including Accounting, Statistics, Marketing, Banking & Insurance, B.C.A (Bachelor of Computer Application)and M.Com (Master of Commerce).
To emerge as a center of excellence in Commerce and Computer Education by fostering academic excellence, research culture, innovation, ethical values, and social responsibility, thereby contributing to national development and global competence.
To inspire the academic environment for the promotion of quality teaching learning in the college along with the faculty improvement. The institute will strive to impart and imbibe effective skills amongst students so they flourish optimistically in life, comprehend independently and contribute in the construction of knowledge industry.
The Alumni Association of M. J. College of Commerce provides a platform for former students to reconnect, share experiences, contribute to institutional growth, and support current students through guidance and mentorship.
